Associate Attorney

Dawnelle is from the Apple Capital of the World located in Wenatchee, Washington, home of the Washington State Apple Commission.  After graduating with honors from Eastmont High School she graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a Public Relations minor located on the exclusive residential community of Queen Ann Hill overlooking the Seattle’s Space Needle, Downtown Seattle, Sleepless in Seattle’s Lake Union, and the Waterfront of Elliott Bay on Puget Sound. After completing her undergraduate work, Dawnelle married her husband Scott and moved to North Texas where she obtained her law degree from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, Texas (now Texas A&M University School of Law), graduated in the top 25% of her class, and was a member of Moot Court.

Dawnelle obtained her license to practice law in November of 2010. Throughout her legal career, Dawnelle has specialized in representing clients in disputes and litigation involving family law that includes divorce, child protective services, modification and enforcements of possession orders and child support, prenuptial agreements, parental rights terminations, and adoptions.

Dawnelle is a Certified Ad Litem in Texas Courts and regularly represents clients in probate and guardianship matters that include probating of wills, estate administrations, heirship proceedings, guardianships of the person and estate, and court created management trusts.  She provides estate planning services to clients that include wills with and without contingent trusts for minors, durable and medical power of attorneys, HIPAA releases, Advance Directives to Physicians, Declaration of Guardian Before the Need Arises, and Supportive Decision-Making Agreements.

An avid supporter of alternative dispute resolution for those in need, Dawnelle has advance family law mediation training and donates up to 40 hours a year providing pro bono mediation to the Denton County Alternative Dispute Resolution Center where she and DCAP participants enjoy an 85% settlement success rate. Dawnelle also provides private mediation services.

Dawnelle lives in Argyle, Texas with her husband, Scott, and has three sons: Kyle, Reese, and Mitchell. She loves gardening, jazz music, and her Silver French Vanier Persian, Ellie Mae. She joined Lewis, Passons & Darnell, P.C. as an associate attorney on March 1, 2022.
